Why the KEY Method Benefits You at Tax Time, Too!
April 22, 2022NOTICE to Clinic Owners and Self-Employed Therapists: Partner with KEY to Grow Your Business!!
June 23, 2022Recently, we met with one of our long-time therapists, and he filled us in on how the Key Method has helped him deepen the focus of his practice.
This therapist’s practice serves 40 companies in Maine, and works on site at 26 of them, focusing on services like wellness, reduction of illnesses and injuries, and helping injured employees get back to work.
In our interview, our therapist friend touched on the irony of injury prevention as a driver of his business! Rather than a focus on injury treatment and billing health insurance, this therapist, like so many others, has found success in providing wellness and prevention services on a cash-pay basis.
Employers appreciate this model because health insurance and workers’ compensation claims are lowered, which of course lowers their overall overhead. As he stated, “We’re trying to drive those numbers down. We have a model in place to actually put on-site services to really reduce the numbers that companies spend for health insurance.”
Using data to support the value of his services, this successful industrial therapist demonstrates value to companies who are then eager to pay for occupational therapy services. “We’re on site at 26 different companies and we’re really trying to prevent people from coming into our clinic. And that’s when we’re successful. When we prevent those illnesses and diseases, we have a good return on our services and that’s when we’re successful.”
Services can be geared according to each company’s needs; some primarily seek lowered workers’ compensation claims, while others are focused on increasing employee wellness and satisfaction, and still others desire professional assistance in onboarding and return-to-work assessments.
During the interview, this therapist said that his favorite part of the KEY Method is using it to work one-on-one with each business, helping them to succeed in crucial areas of their operations. He mentioned that he has been “moving away from health insurance, doing less and less health insurance, and more cash basis concierge type of model.”
