Not only does this business model eliminate hassle and allow you to enjoy greater job satisfaction; your relationship network expands infinitely outward. Step One: Employers serve as the gateway. Using the Direct Pay model, you will work with Employers to provide the Industrial Therapy services they need:
- Functional Capacity Testing
- Prior-to-Hire Assessments
- Return-from-Family-Leave and Return-from-Medical-Leave assessments
- Return-from-Covid-Work-Hold
- Prevention-of-Injury programs with Employees
Working directly with Employers this way will allow you to significantly decrease their work injuries, building intimate relationships with them and their Employees. As you become a valuable member of their team, these connections will grow and provide new opportunities.
Step Two: Deepening the relationship with Employers. Initial assessments help you get your foot in the door. Now that you’ve become a vital resource, Employers will require your services to perform Workers’ Compensation return-to-work assessments – Functional Capacity Assessments. These evaluations increase workplace safety, reduce liability, and help Employers and doctors to make the right calls. You are added to regular safety meetings, Workers’ Comp case reviews, and are invited to do ‘Walk-Arounds’ at their sites.
Step Three: Employers become the gateway to Employees as future patients. Once you’ve become a recognized presence around the workplace, the opportunities multiply quickly. Employees seek you out for not only work-related services, but personal ones as well. This leads to billable appointments for:
- Pediatrics
- Women’s health
- Fitness and conditioning
- Athletes (sports, runners, bikers, etc)
- Geriatrics
- Neurological
- Orthopedic
- Balance
- Arthritis
- Parkinson’s
- Other specialized services
In addition, as you find specializations of need within each Employer’s group of Employees, you offer specialized billable event programs with the Employers.
Step Four: The referrals keep pouring in. Now that you’ve successfully navigated a path from Employers to Employees, you will observe the power of promoted word-of-mouth advertising. Upon your follow-up, Employees who sought your services independently will now recommend you to family members, friends, and neighbors. And Employers will recommend you to other Employers….to start the process all over with another new Gateway opportunity!
